NY was never a state that gets hurricane all the time, so when it happens two years in a row, it's really nerve wracking...
The wind is blowing crazy outside, and I'm hiding inside trying to be positive
Burning my favorite candle while drinking hot cocoa makes me forget about the horrible weather :) <3

Little Haul - Sephora, Bath and Body Shop
September is almost over....
I went to the mall the other day when my house lost power, and saw Bath and Body work was having there 2 for $20 candle sale, and I was like in heaven :)
I bought 4 large candles as well as a little guy (free coupon), and I think I'm ready to go back and get some more !!!
- Salted Caramel
It describes as "Indulge on an autumn day with a swoon-worthy mixture of farm-fresh sweet cream, salted caramel and warm vanilla".
It smells just like caramel candy but not too sweet like a lot of the other candy scent, it's just perfect for a friends hang out kind of day.
And it has this cute golden color cap, just so cute :) !
- Farmstand Apple
It describes as "This sparkling orchard favorite is reminiscent of a bright sunny day picking apples with friends - with notes of McIntosh apple, pear blossom and oak".
This is a perfect scent for right now (summer into autumn). I grew up in a part of the country that harvest apples, then after college I came to US and live in NY state which apple orchard is everywhere. Although I don't particularly like eating apple, but I'm obsessed with apple scent. I used to buy Macinosh scent made by Yankee, and this one from BBS smells just like it and it's so fresh so delicious!
I actually just went apple picking last weekend, and this will keep reminding me the good time I had!
- Autumn
It describes as "On the brink of sweater weather - this inviting fragrance blends dark pomegranate with red apple and notes of fir balsam".
It's a nice scent, very fresh and clean, I probably will use this in the bathroom, since nobody wants to smell candy in there, lol.
- Mahogany Teakwood
It describes as "The scents of fine woods - mahogany, cedarwood and oak - highlighted by delicate lavender and geranium notes conjure up an escape to a cozy library on a chilly fall day".
My first reaction was " HUH? LIBRARY?? ". It's ABERCROMBIE store!!!!
I absolutely LOVE this one!!!! I love Abercrombie smell, but it never occur to me to buy their fragrance, so this is an awesome find. I love love love it!
If you love Abercrombie smell, go get this one!
- Black Pepper Bergamot
This is a little one that I got for free with a print out coupon, I was originally getting the berry one, but I saw this at the checkout counter, and after smelling it, I decided to try it out, and I already burned it out :) It's a little bit on the heavier side, it has spicy black pepper combined with bergamot and lavender, so it will definitely be more appropriate in the winter time with fireplace burning woods and big sweater, but I would definitely buy a large one next time, cause it just smells so cozy.
I also did a little shopping on sephora.com, when nobody was around.......
- Origins Age-erasing set
This set includes a full size Start Over age-erasing moisturizer, a 1.7fl oz Checks and Balances face wash as well as a 0.17fl oz Plantscription anti-agin serum.
I have used Origins products before, I used their couple different masks as well as the mushroom serum, I remembered I liked the serum, it made my face super soft and smooth, but I couldn't remember why I stopped using it.
This moisturize full size is $47, and this whole set was $46, so basically the face wash and serum were free, I haven't started using them, but I will probably review on them after using for a while to see how it is.
- Sephora Brow Scuptor
This was on sale, for only $3, and I need something to make to $50 and get the free shipping, I like the blue color :D
- bareMinerals Matte foundation
This is a free gift for over $25 purchase on Sephora.com. I thought it was a bigger sample, but I guess it's not bad since it's free.
I thought it was perfect timing, because I was going to purchase the foundation two weeks ago, but I was not sure which color should I buy, and I didn't have time to go to sephora to try it out. So when this came, I was super excited. I ordered Matte instead of original because my skin is super oily, and I'm light asian skin, so I ordered the medium beige, and it's very very good. I felt like it absorbed the oil instantly and have a pretty good coverage. I would probably purchase a full size after this!
- Givenchy Play
This was a sample that I picked when I checked out, and it's a fragrance from Givenchy. I'm not sure if it's new, but it has a very clean fresh smell. and the bottle is super cute.
It has bergamot, bitter orange, grapefruit, amyris wood, coffee flower accord vetiver.
Hmmm, bergamot again... I wonder why, lol, maybe I'm just attractive to this smell right now!
Love it!
- samples I got from this purchase
Overall, I pretty much loved everything I bought this past week.
I will try to do a monthly haul as well as monthly favorite from now on.
Leave me a comment, let me know if you like it or not, or what would you like to see!

Julep Introduction Box - American Beauty
I heard a lot about those beauty box monthly subscription kind of deals, so I finally decided to try it out.
I signed up Birchbox as well as Julep , apparently there is a 4 weeks waiting period for birchbox subscription, and I have not received any notification about when mine will be ready.
But I already got my first Julep Maven box, YAY!!!
So I wanna do a unboxing and some descriptions on it, so if anyone wants to subscribe to it, you will know what's in it.
Btw, my style is "American Beauty" after their style test on the website.
The box is this cute little black box, with Julep logo as well as website on it!
When you open the box, there is nice pink wrapper papers in it, as well as a reusable tote, I already started using the tote, so it's not in my house right now... but I will post the picture late.
The first thing in the box is this "The Best Pedi Creme Ever". It's pretty big size (2fl oz), and it says "Exfoliate with AHAs, Hydrate with shea butter and coconut oil, Nourish with essential oils and vitamin E". I tried it on, and it's a little oily on hand (of course) but super nice on the feet.
Although the summer already end, I will continue using this for my winter vacation :)
Second item is a nail polish name "Emma", it described as "Soft and feminine seashell pink shimmer, so elegant alone or for extra shine over any shade ".
I like this color, but I also have the same color from OPI and Essie, so I don't think I have any special feeling for it. It's very pretty though.
Then, this is the nail polish I was excited about.
It's name is Renee, it described as "Spring lilac cream, surprisingly ladylike".
I love love loooove this color, it's this light purplish color that just makes smile, I couldn't wait to put it on.
(sorry I have bad nail right now and my nail polish ability is very poor... )
And here is everything I got. :)
My lighting is really weird today.
Overall, it was a good buy, I think. I used the promotion code "PENNY" and got this box for 1 cent including shipping.
ONLY 1 CENT.
You can't buy anything with 1 cent anymore...
So that's a pretty good deal, so if anyone wants to try it out, please use link
WWW.JULEP.COM/?R=23983186
You can review what you will get for the next month box and switch the style or add more nail polish in your box, and it's much cheaper than buying them separately.
I was going to skip my Oct box originally, but I just got the email showing me the new polishes ( the picture below) , and I absolutely love the box I'm supposed to receiving, and I also added two more color in my box :)
That's my first Julep box experience, and it's so far so awesome!!!
